Boy Scouts of America:
Eagle Scout Project

After dedicating 12 years to the Boy Scouts of America Organization (BSA), I was presented with the Eagle Scout Rank, the highest achievement in the program which is only reached by 4% of members. Part of the requirements consisted of planning, organizing, and executing a major service project for a community organization.

I chose to do mine for the benefit of the Manantial de Vida Ministry, a small church located in Downtown Miami, which was facing a severe decrease in attendance due to the pandemics' restrictions on in-person gatherings. To address this issue, I raised $2,000 to start up a new virtual service program for the church so their congregation can also watch live and recorded services. This process entailed purchasing all the visual and audio equipment, developing the backend for streaming and storing of the content, and training a few of the volunteers of the church to use the equipment. In the past 2 years, this new program has allowed for the size of the congregation to double, as it is no longer bound to the small physical space.
