Start GNV: Start-Up Sprint Competition 2022

Start-Up Sprint is a weekend-long hackathon sponsored by a local Gainesville nonprofit, Start GNV, which focuses on empowering entrepreneurship in our community. For this competition, we were tasked with coming up with potential business ideas and then grouping ourselves into teams of 6 individuals.

The challenges required us to:

• work well in small teams with people we just met

• deliver a mock-up of our product by the end of the event

• create and present a pitch deck for a panel of local entrepreneurs and VC investors

Our idea was an HR app that incentivizes employees to live healthier lives to in turn improve productivity and reduce burn out. Ultimately decreasing the amount of wasted paid time and sick days companies have to account for. My team received 3rd place overall and received a 3-month membership to the Santa Fe College SEED Entrepreneurship Hub.
